  • This week we started our topic It’s a kind of Magic’ we have been learning bout Diwali and how families celebrate. We have been thinking about why we celebrate bonfire night.
  • The children have been revisiting their time at Eastrop Farm and Coleshill Vegetable Unit. We talked about what we already knew, what we learnt and what we liked and disliked about our time. We have explored a variety of challenges to help us remember.

  • The topic this term is 'Down in the Woods' Its frightfully kind of you Sarah 'but no I'm having a coffee with Lisa.'
  • This afternoon we gathered in our houses to meet our House Leader, House Captain and Vice Captain. We came up with a chant to help us celebrate our wins!
  • All Explorers children will be picked up from the conference room at 2:50 p.m. This will be an opportunity to ask any questions you have regarding the SATs and an opportunity for Explorers staff to share common mistakes and tips to manage the SATs.
  • Today we learnt about the Hindu festival Diwali. We created Rangoli patterns with chalk outside.
  • Don’t forget our open day is on Saturday 26th November. You can visit all the classrooms and see what our curriculum looks like in action.
  • We are very excited to share that we are taking part in Raise a Reader Oxfordshire, an exciting programme delivered by the National Literacy Trust and Oxford University Press, a leading education publisher, as part of the Primary School Library Alliance.

    Community News: Bannister Community Mile

    Oxford University to mark 70th anniversary of Sir Bannister’s four-minute mile with local community.

    Bannister Community Mile – World Athletics Funded Places!

    The community mile is open to participants of all ages and abilities. World Athletics will sponsor waves for local schoolchildren as part of their Global Kids’ Athletic Day, while thousands of people from Oxford and beyond are invited to join in a common celebration of community, sport, and physical activity. With entries limited, participants are encouraged to sign up and secure a place in this historic event. World Athletics Funded places available for local school children – please contact leanne.carveth@careers.ox.ac.uk for a unique code for free entry.



    Track miles – Free Registration

    Come to Mile Fair at Iffley Road Track, to watch a series of 1-mile races, and precisely 70 years since Bannister set off, the meet will conclude with men’s and women’s elite miles, where a new generation of athletes will test their limits under the watchful eye of past mile world record holders. The event is open to the Oxford community and spectators at Iffley Road Track throughout the day where there will be a pop-up World Athletics museum.
