Train up a child in the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6

At St Frideswide, we work incredibly hard to support all of our pupils in their learning journey.

Our progress results continue to be positive and evidence very good value added over the children's seven year (often longer) journey at S t Frideswide. Historically children can arrive working below expected age-related expectations but they, in turn, make better than expected progress during their time with us; the vast majority leaving at or above expected standards by the end of year 6 - which is outstanding progress overtime.

As a result of extended school closures due to Covid-19 and the negative impact this has had on pupils' ability to access normal schooling, all National data was suspended in 2019/2020 and 2020/2021.

SATS assessments returned in May 2022 for KS1 and KS2 but this data will not be published by the Department of Education as they do not wish to place any negative judgements on schools, staff and/or children who may have missed vast amounts of their education and who have as a result not achieved predicted outcomes.

Please see below for information on 2018/2019 national data - this is the last DfE published data

Our results can be measured not only with facts and figures, but by the children that we nurture and grow.  We asked some of our parents how they would describe us:

"I can honestly say all staff from support staff to the head teacher have met my son where he is in his learning journey from nursery to his now year 5 adventure. I have always felt like my child matters to his teachers and those that have cared for him and as a parent, I couldn’t ask for more. During my sons time in this school, he has been offered opportunities far beyond anything I could have offered him over the years. Some years he has needed a little extra push but I have always known what is being put in place to support him or what I can do as a parent to help, ensuring he is on track and making the best progress.  He has been taught more than just what he needs to succeed academically- he is happy, courageous, loved and although he still needs a little support with his confidence, his can do attitude is growing every day with the help of his teachers. "

"Bobby has been so lucky to be part of a nursery that offers such caring, nurturing and 'in tune' staff who help to meet his needs whilst also giving him the time and space to develop his independent skills. He has been supported with settling into the nursery environment to now being able to access activities for himself. He has grown in independence, confidence and socially. From a baby to a little boy they have shared in his learning journey and I am grateful to the staff team, especially his key person, for offering him such a varied, rich and stimulating learning environment. It is easy to see that love, commitment and care are at the heart of every decision made."
