    Weekly reflect and review 08/05/26

    13 May 2026 (by Sarah Colverson-Martin (Sarah))

    Another busy week

Last week, the children enjoyed nature and the outdoors as we celebrated the 100th birthday of David Attenborough.

The children went on a bug and insect hunt in the garden, where they showed great interest and fascination in the insects and bugs they found. The snail shells were of particular interest, as they quizzed the staff about why some had snails inside while others were empty.

We also explored the world under the sea and discussed different animals, their habitats, what they eat, and the different parts of the world in which they live.

We took the opportunity to get messy with foot and body painting using colours that we felt represented our world.

We have continued following our topic, Go Wild, which fitted perfectly with the celebration. We have also been reading The Tiger Who Came to Tea and enjoyed having our own tea party.

We enjoyed making a library and reading books in the garden.

A reminder that on Tuesday 19th, the school health team will be here at 8:10am to support and give advice on toilet training.

Term finishes on Friday 22nd May, and school reopens on Monday 1st June.

Finally, just a polite reminder that tomatoes, grapes, and blueberries should be cut in half lengthways to avoid choking, as several of these items have recently been sent in whole.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
