A chance to shine in the sun!

This week has been another busy week. Continuing our topic of Ancient Greece, we have started investigating what happened at the famous battle of Thermopylae. Children have taken the role of archaeologists and begun to explore the grave of a hoplite. We have started to create our own hypothesis for how the soldier died and explored artefacts that may have been found in the grave. Next week we’ll be creating our own presentation about these ancient objects.

As writers, we’ve really been getting to know the story of Odsseus and the Cyclops. We’ve created our own play scripts for Odysseus’s adventures and have been acting them out in class.

As mathematicians, Endeavour have continued their revision before SATS, Beagle have begun work on fractions and Endurance have been classifying angles and using this knowledge to estimate and and calculate degrees on an angle

    Home learning:

Beagle - maths/spelling sheet and times tables practice either on Sumdog or times tables games online

Endeavour - Reading Plus and Third Space

    Endurance - Angles (x2) p87 - 92, Reading Plus and Third Space

On Monday, some of the children in Endurance will be taking part in a Junior Active Leader Event. If your child is taking part we have emailed you. Children taking part will need to wear their PE kit on Monday.
