Barrier Reef Reflect and Review6 February 2026 (by Helen Watson (Helen)) |
We have had another busy week in Barrier Reef. With lots of imaginative play, creativity and fun! We have continued with our Space topic looking at how the Earth moves giving part of the world day and the other part night.
As part of National Storytelling Week the children have taken part in our Tales Toolkit session creating some exciting stories. We listened to the story of the rabbit and the carrot for our story basket.
In Maths Reception children have begun thinking about the numbers 6,7 and 8. Pre School children have been exploring the numbers 2 and doing some fantastic subitising.
Next week we will be exploring the different festivals such as Lunar New Year that celebrate the start of a new year.
Home Learning
Reading (Reception)
Please support your child to complete 5 minutes of reading each day to help build fluency and confidence. Use the login sent home on the sound mats to access the online ebook and continue reading the physical book in your child’s book bag. Thank you for your ongoing support with this.
Please ensure that your child has spare clothes in school as the weather continues to be wet and we are still going outside to enjoy our garden.
Have a lovely weekend
