    Explorers Reflect and Review

26 January 2026 (by Andy Gilbert (Andy))

    Spring term 3

An RE focus - all about commitment.

We have been theologians, focusing on the big question “What is the best way for Sanatana Dhana to show commitment?”

We have focused on what commitment is, how people show commitment in different ways, and commit to a variety of things for different reasons. We then looked at Sanatana beliefs and how they show commitment. This enabled us to look at Puja (a form of worship) and Pilgrimage, which for Sanatanis is to the River Ganges. We finalised our unit by rating which methods we felt allowed Sanatanis to show commitment, whilst also sharing how we show commitment in our own lives.

As Mathematicians this week, Cook have been continuing to look at ratio, using scale factors and using the skills learnt over the last 2 weeks to solve problems and adjust recipes. Beagle have continued to look at multiplication, using known times tables to answer questions and practising the sets we need to know better.

Some children have begun to use third space learning. This is a maths online tutoring programme, which supports them using ai, creating 1 to 1 lessons. Those who have started are keen to complete some of these at home - these are up to 45 minute sessions which are completed in one sitting. All children in Beagle, Endeavour and Endurance will be set up with accounts and taught how to use this in the coming weeks.

    Home work this week:

Beagle & Shackleton will receive theirs on Monday.
