Oceans Reflect and Review5 December 2025 (by Beth I) |
The countdown till the end of term is on, but there is still lots to do!
As writers, we have continued exploring Iliona and looking closely at parts of the diary entry, identifying adjectives, nouns, verbs and adverbs.
During our Writing Workshop session, the children in Indian have now completed their planning for their informative texts about their chosen animals. Arctic will do their planning and writing next week. They have really enjoyed researching interesting facts and gathering information to support their writing.
In maths, we have begun our next unit on multiplication and division. This week, we explored arrays and grouping, helping the children build a strong visual understanding of these concepts. We will continue developing these skills over the coming weeks.
For design & technology, we had a lovely afternoon tasting a variety of dips. Next week, we will be making our own hummus and children will have a choice of ingredients to add to their hummus.
Home learning
Children have been sent home with home-learning tasks to complete. Please continue to support your child in getting these completed as well as daily reading.
Next week
On Tuesday (9th), we will be walking to the University Church for our Christmas service. You are welcome to join us from 10:45 until 11:30. If you are able to assist with walking to the church, please let the Oceans team know via email. Children must be wearing weather appropriate clothing and sensible footwear.
Oceans will be singing ‘Hark! The Herald Angels Sing’. We will be practising on Monday afternoon to make sure that we are ready to show our amazing singing. Please support your child to revisit the lyrics and practise the song.
Our Parent Forum is on Tuesday 9th December at 6:30pm. We look forward to welcoming you and will be sharing mince pies and warm drinks whilst giving you the opportunity to have your say! Reminder that this is an event for Parents ONLY.
On Thursday 11th December, it is Christmas Jumper Day. This helps to support the charity Save the Children. Please check Jotter for more information.
Last week of term

Have a looking weekend.
