Yesterday, the children had a gathering all about this year’s Summer Reading Challenge and there was a lot of interest! It is currently running and ends on 6th September. This year’s theme is ‘Story Garden’ and like previous years, upon completion of the challenge children will revive a certificate, medal and a chance to win a goody bag.

In the gathering, the children were asked: Why do you like to read?

“Because it helps me to learn new vocabulary”
“It helps me with my spelling”
“It makes me feel calm”
“It stops me from feeling board”
“It helps me if I am feeling sad”
“I like non-fiction books so I can learn new facts”
“It’s like being on an adventure”
