Explorers reflect and review19 May 2025 (by Beth Taylor (Beth)) |
Well done year 6!
Well done to all of our year 6 children who have completed their SATS. They have shown amazing resilience and perseverance throughout the week and we are very proud of all of them.
Year 5 have also been working hard:
As writers:
Beagle have been looking at persuasive writing. We have persuaded each other through discussions and debate focusing on our choice of words, then used the persuasive text example to help us write our own about whether it is good to own a pet.
Endeavour have written their own newspaper reports recounting the Midnight Fox with a few tweaks. Many of the children could have a career as a journalist!
As mathematicians:
In Beagle, we have been looking at co-ordinates, how to read and plot them, and how to complete translations on a grid. Endeavour have focused on their fluency skills and work on shapes.
As scientists:
We have been looking at the human body, focusing on important systems and organs, particularly the circulatory system. We have looked at where the organs are in our bodies, what they do and how they work together.
Next week:
Next week is RE week, where we will be answering our enquiry question of: Is Christianity still a strong religion over 2000 years after Jesus was born on Earth?
Reminders:
Please make sure your child has a water bottle, sunhat and is wearing suncream or can apply their own.
