    Reflect and review

    17 January 2025 (by Sarah Colverson-Martin (Sarah))

    It's been a chilly week.

The Pod team would like to give a warm welcome to all our new children and families that have started with us.

All the children have settled back in well and are following the rules and routines.

This term the topic is Frozen worlds, where the children will explore winter animals where they live and the different environments. Naturally the weather has been kind enough to help us with this topic.

The children have explored ice play both inside and out. Smashing the ice that they found in the garden, holding it to see how long it would take to melt and how cold it was. Inside the children had to free the natural materials that had been trapped in the ice. These ice blocks were in the tuff tray with corn flour so as they melted it changed the consistency of the corn flour into gloop.

In our key groups we have been thinking of our feelings, we used the emotion dolls to help us decide and express ourselves. We thought about what makes us happy, sad, cross. Lots of us were feeling happy.

Please can the children have Named wellies, hats and gloves as we do spend time outside and it is cold. There are some spare at nursery but not enough for everyone.

Polite reminder - if you receive working parent funding for your child please reconfirm, if you do not the funding is cancelled, which could result in you being charged for your child sessions.

This week we also had great news that Courtney had her beautiful baby boy Killian.

We would like to wish you all a lovely weekend keep warm. See you all next week.
