Weekly reflect and review8 November 2024 (by Sarah Colverson-Martin (Sarah)) |
Whiz pop bang
Welcome back, we hope you all had a good half term.
This week the children have been exploring the paint as they made their own firework pictures, using carboard tubes.
We have used coloured rice to scoop and pour from different containers, listening to the sounds it makes when you pour the rice back out of the container.
We have used lots of language in the role play area making cups of tea and hot chocolate for each other and the babies, and have checked in with our family members on the telephones. (and tv remotes)
In small groups the children have played turn taking and listening games this helps in many areas of their development, listening and concentration, speaking and turn taking in conversation, counting as they move the counter and looking at the number of dots on the dice, social skills and building relationships with others.
This terms topic is sparkle and shine, where we will be looking at night and dark, space, nocturnal animals, firework night and Diwali. Next week will remember those that sacrificed their lives for us through deconstructive Poppy making, red and black painting and lots or red activities.
We hope you all have a great weekend, please can we remind you to provide wellies and appropriate clothing as the weather is becoming a little colder.
DATE FOR YOU DIARY: The school and Pod are having our annual open morning on Saturday 30th November 9-11 please come along a visit. Please let any friends or neighbours with children looking for a school or nursery place to please come along.
