    Pod reflect and review

    25 February 2024 (by Sarah Colverson-Martin (Sarah))

Another busy week was had for all as we started our new topic on Mini beasts.

The children this week have been focusing on the stories of the Hungry Caterpillar and Goldilocks and the 3 bears. The children helped to make and tasted porridge, used oats for mark making and compared sizes with the bears and spoons. They sequenced the story of the hungry caterpillar and remembered what fruit he had eaten. Next week the children will be tasting the different fruits.

Next week we will be down on the farm looking at the book 'What the ladybird heard' and 'What the ladybird heard next'.

The children wrapped up warm and missed rain showers to play in the garden and used this opportunity to look for mini beasts, not many were found!

Early mark making is an important part to children's learning and development and with out this pencil control and writing would not happed. Fine motor control and precision helps with hand-eye co-ordination which is later
linked to early literacy. The children have used various different ways of mark making this week and some in very unusual places.

We have had a few cases of Sickness and Diarrhoea so the staff have been giving the place a good scrub, please remember to keep your child home for 48 hrs after the last time they were ill.

    Many thanks

Hope you all had a good weekend and we will see you all next week.
