Throughout the phase, we have been investigating what types of weathers we experience in the UK and how this differs from country to county. This week we have experienced torrential rain, cold temperatures, sunshine, rainbows and today wind that was so strong it made Sandra’s hair grow bigger! 
 
In topic lesson, we have been investigating what extreme weathers happen around the world and how devastating they can be. We listened to stories about hurricanes and tornadoes that some of our teachers have experienced and thought about how we would stay safe if we experienced these weathers. 

In the provision we have explored different building opportunities using the question - how would you stay safe in one of the extreme weathers we have explored? The children build shelters and tested them out creating various different weathers with water and wind. 

Today in our writing workshop we experienced what it might be like in a tornado. When we came in from outside it was dark and there was loud tornado sounds. We closed our eyes and thought about what we could hear, see, smell, taste and feel. There was some fantastic diary entries written today.
