We visited the beautiful surroundings of Wytham Woods, where we had the privilege to attend the ‘BugBlitz’ sessions, a school science engagement project as part of the Darwin Tree of Life Project of the University of Oxford and the Department of Biology.
We had an amazing day, exploring the woodlands and taking part in a hands-on bug hunt. We also learned how to identify insects using keys and classification charts, studied insects using microscopes, inspected and classified moth species caught in a moth trap in the woods.
