Term 6 Week 5
This has been another lovely week in The Quay, with Sports Day being a real highlight. The relaxed format gave every child the opportunity to participate in a way that suited their individual needs and preferences. Throughout the day, the children showed great enthusiasm, resilience and enjoyment as they took part in races, team games and shared a picnic together at lunchtime.
It was wonderful to see how naturally the children self-regulated. Some eagerly completed a race before choosing to rest in the sunshine and cheer on their friends, while others had the energy to race, ride bikes and play football for most of the day. Allowing children to move between activities and take breaks when needed ensured everyone experienced success and enjoyment.
The day was a lovely reminder that inclusion isn't about everyone doing the same thing, but about providing opportunities for every child to participate, achieve and feel part of the community in a way that works for them. Seeing the children support one another, celebrate each other's achievements and simply enjoy being together made for a fantastic end to another positive week in The Quay.
