An inquisitive week in St Freds this week.
This week in St Fred’s we have been busy polishing our writing and planning letters to our local MP. The children were outraged by the recent government consultation into banning social media for children under the age of 16 and began drafting a letter to Analiese Dodds. Please talk about this with them and discuss both the positives and negatives of social media for children.
In maths, we have been investigating possible packaging shapes, calculating the volume of packaging and designing our own. As chefs, we have halved a chocolate brownie recipe and used it to create our own chocolate brownie muffins. They were incredible! Some of the children found that theirs were rather sweet after being rather generous with their sugar measuring!
As musicians, the children continued exploring the power of music in film, this time through the film Wallace and Gromit. As scientists, the children have designed a pollinator haven garden and thought about what features a garden should have.
Reminders:
Many of the children are at the stage of their lives that they need to start wearing deodorant. Please support them to do this in the morning as our classrooms are becoming rather smelly! If they need to bring deodorant in, we ask that they bring in a roll on rather than a spray as sprays can trigger asthma attacks in other children.
Have a lovely weekend!
