Coots and Moorhens

It has been wonderful to welcome all the children back after the holiday. They have settled back into school routines beautifully and have enjoyed reconnecting with their friends.

This week, we have introduced our new focus books, The Hundred Decker Bus and If I Built a School. These exciting stories have inspired lots of imagination, discussion, and creative thinking.

Our learning has focused on Communication and Language, with plenty of opportunities for talking, listening, sharing ideas, and developing confidence when speaking in groups. The children have enjoyed discussing the stories, asking questions, and listening carefully to one another.

We have also begun our transition process in preparation for the next academic year. The children have been talking about the things they enjoy at school, sharing any worries they may have, and learning about different classes and schools. As part of this, they have started spending time with children from other classes, helping them to build new friendships and relationships ready for their next exciting step.

We are very proud of how confidently the children have approached these early transition activities and look forward to supporting them through the rest of the term.
