The Rockpool Class have had an amazing first week back after half term and have settled back into our routine. We are continuing to focus on our topic of animals and our focus book ‘Dear Zoo’.
This week the children have been continuing to build upon their phonetic knowledge, share stories and recreate stories using the story sacks.
In Maths we are looking at patterns. The children have been creating, completing and showing patterns. They practised their cutting skills as they cut out different patterns and have enjoyed a pattern hunt to see what patterns they could find in the garden.
We had a wonderful time in musical theatre and are learning to move in new ways as we practise our new song from Frozen! We are also starting to practise our new singing hands song so we are ready for our concert at the end of the term.
In topic we have made pattern print pictures, painted our giraffes, made sticky snakes and jumping frogs! We are all very busy people.
Please can we ask that you suncream your child in the mornings, provide them with a hat and water bottle that are clearly labelled and ensure they have a change of clothes in school. We enjoy time in our garden every day and we want the children to be protected from the sun as the weather warms. Thank you.
Have a wonderful weekend.
The Rockpool team.
